Introduction

Welcome to my listening blog for the course "Music 1: From The Present To The Past", presented by the Open College of Arts. The words in the title of my blog were spoken by Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I decided to use this particular quote because I think it encapsulates my thoughts that however much we learn about the makings, workings and history of music, the essence of it will always have an air of mystery which makes it all the more alluring.
